Saluting Branches

The 2nd Annual Saluting Branches Day of Service was held on September 21, 2016. Over 1,400 volunteers from more than 300 companies put in an estimated 11,200 hours in one day. More than $1.4 million dollars in arboriculture services donated by arborists doing the work they love!

During the August 2016 ISA Tradeshow in Texas, Brian Tunge of ArborMAX took the time to visit with Greg Krogstad, President of Rainbow Treecare, and learn about Saluting Branches.

Their actions speak volumes about our industry and the overall culture of the people we serve every day in the tree care industry.

Introducing your New ArborMAX Program Manager: Jeffry Blackman, CIC

Effective October 1, 2015, Jeffry Blackman will oversee ArborMAX as the Program Manager. Jeff previously served as an underwriter with the ArborMAX Program and has been with the company since 2004. He is an experienced primary and excess casualty underwriter, specializing in the tree care industry. His underwriting, management and customer service skills make him the perfect fit to lead the ArborMAX program. Blackman earned his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) in 2006 and is currently working toward completing his CPCU designation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Davenport University.

ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification Program

The ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) program provides an opportunity for professionals in the arboriculture industry to expand their knowledge through education and training in the fundamentals of tree risk assessment. This qualification promotes the safety of people and property by providing a standardized and systematic process for assessing tree risk. The results of a tree risk assessment can provide tree owners and risk managers with the information to make informed decisions to enhance tree benefits, health, and longevity.

  

The course includes Tree Biology and Mechanics, Tree Inspection and Assessment, Data Analysis and Risk Categorization and Risk Reporting. The Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) Course prepares the participant to take the TRAQ assessment to become ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified.

  

The qualification consists of a 2-day educational course followed by a ½ day assessment that includes both a written and field component. It is required that you attend the course and successfully complete the assessment in order to receive this qualification.
